Every day in the world, humans face ethical problems and must come to decisions. We use our beliefs of what we think is right and wrong to come to an ethical decision in our day to day life. In the world of marketing and business people are faced with even challenging, complex ethical issues. To help make reasonable ethical decisions business and organizations often make a code of ethics that relates to the business or field as a guide on how you should conduct and make business decisions. Relating to my field of study, the American Marketing Association has made one of these codes of ethics outlining key points and characteristics to go by to be successful and to act ethically in marketing. They cover honesty, responsibility, fairness, respect, transparency and citizenship and how these characteristic and beliefs are key in being successful and acting ethically. I will talk about the key point and why they are important to practice in business and marketing and the results and effec t of not acting ethically. The first thing the AMA code of ethics covers is honesty. In marketing, it is very important to tell the truth. This builds integrity and trust throughout the company, with customers, society and shareholders. If you were not honest, this can result in losing trust with employees. By 9:40 PM, mud had overflowed onto the floor of the Deepwater Horizon and then through the Derrick (BP, 2010). Gas had then leaked out, which resulted in an explosion, causing significant damage to the oil platform. BP (BP, 2010) also believed that the damaged Blowout preventer continued to fuel the fire with gas after the initial explosion. As a result of this, the explosion had resulted in the deaths of eleven personnel and the dispersal of nearly five million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico (Pallardy, 2014). When Gordon reveals that he was only interested in renting Norma’s luxurious car for a pi cture that is being made, a sudden burst of non-diegetic music is inserted. â€Å"Happy The Man† by John Dryden John Dryden was born on 9 August in 1631 in a small town in Northamptonshire, England, the eldest of 14 children, was an influential English poet, literary critic, translator, and playwright who dominated the literary life of Restoration England to such a point that the period came to be known in literary circles as the Age of Dryden. Walter Scott called him â€Å"Glorious John. â€Å"[1] He was made Poet Laureate in 1668. As a humanist public school, Westminster maintained a curriculum which trained pupils in the art of rhetoric and the presentation of arguments for both sides of a given issue.This is a skill which would remain with Dryden and influence his later writing and thinking, as much of it displays these dialectical patterns.
